Cryosurgery involves the use of liquid nitrogen to eliminate benign and certain superficial skin malignancies. It can also be used to treat actinic and seborrheic keratoses. Commonly, a scab is formed after treatment which usually falls off within a 2-week period without complications. The cosmetic effects are satisfactory.
