What should I bring to my first visit?

Please bring a valid photo ID, your insurance card(s), and a list of any current prescriptions. If you have undergone any skin condition tests, such as a skin biopsy, please bring a copy of the results.

Will I be able to drive after my Surgery Procedure?

Yes, for most procedures performed at Yellowstone Dermatology Associates, you will be able to drive afterward. However, for Mohs surgery, we recommend having someone assist you, as a bandage on your face could impair your ability to drive.

What is an out of network provider?

This provider is outside the network of your insurance company, meaning reimbursement will occur at a negotiated rate. Most health plans offer coverage for out-of-network providers; however, your financial responsibility may be higher. It is strongly recommended that you contact your insurance company in advance to fully understand your coverage and any costs associated with receiving out-of-network care.

Are you open on Saturdays?

Do you offer Mohs surgery?

Among all skin cancer treatment surgeries, Mohs surgery is considered the best option. It is highly effective and performed exclusively by surgeons with specialized training in the technique.

Yellowstone Dermatology Associates is one of the few clinics that offer Mohs Surgery. We have trained professionals with several years of experience who can help you accordingly.

What should I expect with Mohs surgery?

If you are planning to undergo Mohs surgery, it is important to know that the procedure is performed while the patient is awake. Only the targeted area will be numbed using a local anesthetic. The surgery is done in-house, where the surgeon removes the cancerous skin and examines it under a microscope to check the margins and ensure all malignant tissue is removed.

The procedure is often repeated to ensure that all cancerous tissue has been completely removed.
